£3.72

Avocado oil is heavy oil, rich in nutrients, which is particularly good for dry, aging and sensitive skins. Avocado oil is recommended to help nourish and restore dry, dehydrated, and mature skin.

Skin problems, particularly eczema and psoriasis, respond to the high content of vitamins A and E in avocado oil. This is a highly therapeutic oil which is rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, vitamins D and E, protein, pantothenic acid, and fatty acids.

Avocado oil is often blended with other carrier oils in a 10%-20% dilution as an aid to skin moisturising.

Avocado oil is used widely as massage oil, in soaps and for external application and is often favoured for its lengthy shelf life.

OILS IN MASSAGE

Oils can be used in massage, to dilute essential oils before they are applied to the skin. During massage, the carrier oil acts as an effective lubricant between hand and skin.

Fixed oils can be used alone or blended with essential oils in the following dilutions:

  • Facial massage and skincare: 1-3 drops per 5ml
  • General Massage: 5-10 drops per 15ml

EXTERNAL APPLICATION OF OILS

Oils are often used in topical preparations and can be applied directly to revive the skin. Most oils can be used as emollients as they are particularly effective in moisturisation. Some oils may also benefit skin health due to their astringent, anti-inflammatory and rejuvenating properties.

Some oils may also be used in hair and nail care, to moisturise and prevent brittleness

Warning

  • If you have a medical condition, are using medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding we advise you seek advice from your medical practitioner as to which fixed/carrier oils and essential oils are safe to use.
  • If you have a nut allergy – some carrier oils contain nut oils and or may have been manufactured in an environment where nut oils are present.
  • Carrier oils are not recommended for internal use.
